The Real Thing

cat

One particular morning, I woke up thinking about Angel, a cat, my son was given as a gift and had died.

I didn’t want to explain about death to a four-year-old little boy so when it went missing, I told my son that Angel went on vacation for a few days.

This bought me a couple of days to look for and buy a cat that looked like Angel!

Finally, I found a look alike!  I took cat home, placed him there, got my son, and as we were walking, there was Angel.

My son got all excited, and I was saying, “Oh thank you, God, there is Angel.”

As he got closer he said, “Mommy, that is NOT Angel!”

I said, “Yes, it is!”

My son was shaking his head, “No, it’s not!”

When we finally got to the cat, he started crying, “Mommy, this is not Angel.”

Once again, I tried telling him it was the same color and same size.

“Of course, it’s Angel!”

Then he got even closer, picked up the cat, and said, “Mommy, this cat does NOT have blue eyes! Angel has blue eyes!”

Ok..my point?

My son knew his cat. He had studied Angel’s mannerisms.  He could tell from far away it wasn’t Angel, but then there was the color of Angel’s eyes. I guess I didn’t see the colors.

So, today I ask you are you studying God?

Are you portraying and exhibiting the real thing or you just pretending to be godly?

You can fake it to yourself or to those who are in the same boat as you, but you can’t fake it to those who love God and follow His ways.

Real people know the real thing.

How about imitating God’s ways?

Be the real deal to people who really need to see God in their situations.

I took cat home, placed him there, and got Justin.  As we were walking, there was Angel.  My son got all excited, and I was saying, “Oh thank you, God, there is Angel.”

As Justin got closer, he said, “Mommy, that is NOT Angel!”

I said, “Yes, it is!”

He was shaking his head, “No, it’s not!”

Justin knew his cat. He had studied his mannerisms.  He could tell from far away it wasn’t his cat, but then there was the color of his eyes.  I guess I didn’t see the colors.

So, today I ask you are you studying God?

We Are Thanking God For What God Is Doing With The Book: “SURRENDER: The Ultimate Submission.”

I am happy to share with all of you the news I got last night.
I just received this picture showing our book,
“SURRENDER: THE ULTIMATE SUBMISSION.”
surrender-those-addicted

It was used in a facility for men who are battling drug abuse.

This took place on the other side of the world

as the message was given in another language.

I wrote that book, with my co-authors, because God told me I had to let go of a phone call I felt I was owed. It was hard for me to let it go.  God told me, “Surrender this call to me, get on the computer and write a book on Surrender!” I honestly was telling God, “No, I can’t do this, I don’t want to do this!”  But, God doesn’t let go of us when we are scared and overwhelmed. His gentle whisper, “Yes, you can do this, I will show you what to write!”  He did! I don’t share about it much.  I’m sorry about that.  I felt maybe I would be misunderstood and be judged for being self-promoting or boasting.  I was wrong to think that.

When God does something,
He must be given all of the glory.

The emails Ruth and I get are overwhelming of lives that have been transformed by the power of the Almighty God because they surrendered to God. This should not come as a huge surprise to me because God told me to write this book.  Therefore, I should expect nothing less than lives totally surrendered and changed to our great God.
Would you join me in praying for these men who are battling a horrible addiction?  With God not only can they be delivered but also restored and given a second chance in life.  Join me in prayer and stand in the gap for their total surrender.

Don’t Be So Busy…

read-meDon’t be so busy trying to get an unending list of things to do done, that you forget to or can’t fit God into your schedule. You must be deliberate by choosing to start and finish your day with God, letting His peace consume you.

Keep Going

tobymac-1Keep going, pray, pray some more and never give up. The situation you may find yourself in may not be ideal or where you’d like to be, but it won’t last forever. God has you, child of God, and He’ll never let you go.

The Arm of the Lord is Powerful

jeremiah-1“Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.”

-Isaiah 59:1

Beloved, the arm of the Lord is strong, mighty, and powerful to save you.  His ears heard loud and clear the very whispers of your words.  Hang on tight to His arm, and whisper praises to the Great I Am.  Repeatedly, we see in the Bible how God came and rescued His people. He rescued Noah from the flood, he rescued Rahab from being killed, he rescued Naomi from the famine, and the list continues.  God is saying to you today, “Is my arm too short to save you?  Do you think I am deaf and did not hear your cry for help?” God always comes to the call of the righteous!

What are you facing today?  Is it a health issue?  Jesus healed blind men, deaf men, mute men, and fevers, told people to get up and walk, and raised men and women and children from the dead.  Is it financial issues?  Jesus told Peter to let down his net and he caught so many fish that the net broke, and the boat started to sink.  Is it a partner you are seeking? Abraham’s servant went to find a wife for Abraham’s son, Isaac, and came back with a godly and beautiful woman, Rebekah.  Are you trying to conceive?  Hannah called out to God, and God opened her womb, and Samuel was born!  Whatever you’re asking God, know His hand is NOT too short to save you nor is His ear too dull to hear the petition of your heart.

You serve a God who specializes in the impossible.  He wants to show upright in the middle of your crisis and give you a tailormade miracle!  Why does God give us miracles? First, I believe, is because He loves you, and He wants to show Himself great in your life. He is your Heavenly Father, who loves you with an everlasting love.  He wants to give you the desires of your heart.  Secondly, because He wants to use the difficulty to draw you closer to Him and to give you a testimony of His amazing grace and power to a lost world.

Back in December, as I was praying, God gave me a vision. I saw the torso part of him. No face.  I saw his arms stretched out, they were so very massive, and I can’t even begin to explain.  God is close to the brokenhearted.  Go before Him and acknowledge His arm is not too short to come to your rescue.  In fact, tell Him how much you love and adore Him. How do you know He is going to rescue you?  God answers prayers in many different ways. When you belong to Him and you live a life to please Him, He will always show up and rescue you just in a nick of time!  I am reminded of that song, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower.  The righteous run into it, and they are saved!”

Today, grab your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to draw you to that place of strength only God can give you.  Believe with all your heart that He is there walking with you and is hearing your cry for help.  Thank Him that He does hear you and will move His arm on your behalf!

I Will Praise The Lord

mighty-kids-for-christ-logo

“My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!”  –Psalms 10:1

Did God ever do a miracle for you?

Did God give you a promise and kept it?

And did God help you in a really bad time of need?

praise-him-2If He did one of those or all of them, you should praise Him and give thanks for everything He has done for you.  God loves you so you should thank Him for everything and everyone.  One day, when I was praying for my food, I started to pray to thank God for every single thing He has made.

Don’t be shy to thank Him in prayer too.
If I can do it, so can you!  Think it through.  If God does a really good thing for you, what should you do?  That’s right you should always pray and praise Him!

A way to praise Him is to sing and dance before Him, and prayer is just like talking, but you’re talking to God!  Thank God in whatever you do because He does everything for you!
