This month our focus will be on Evangelism.  After all, as disciples of Christ, we are to shine our light before all mankind.  We don’t cower or shrink back.  As children of God, we have been endued with power from on high.

evangelize-2However, admittedly, quite of few of us look like this guy in the picture when we hear the words “witnessing” and “evangelism.”  We find ourselves saying, “I can’t speak well” and “I don’t have the words” and “I never know what to say.”

Great!  Now move you out of God’s way, and let God work through you and use you.

There is no reason to fear.  You are a child of God, and you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ into a lost and dying world.  In this day and age, with Social Media, you can witness to people online.  No excuses.  You don’t even have to leave your house.  You can talk with people by Facebook, Blogging, Twitter, Instagram, Phone Texting, and the like- and then there is what has been used for decades -Personal One-On-One Conversations, Standing on the Street Corner Preaching The Gospel, Passing Out Tracts, Demonstrating the Love of God by Helping a Neighbor/Fellow Man or Woman in Need, Clothing Drives, Food Drives, and the list goes on and on.  We’re definitely not limited when it comes to evangelism.  However, whatever method we use to evangelize, all that we do must be done with love with the purpose in mind to win the lost to Jesus Christ no matter what the cost.

“You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.  For God, who said, ‘Let there be light in the darkness,’ has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.  We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.  This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” -2 Corinthians 4:5-7
