Back To Where You Need To Go

Jonah & Whale

“But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish.  But the Lord hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart.”  ~Jonah 1:3-4

Do you know what Jonah did?

Yes, he tried to run away from God!  But God sent a huge storm.

You can’t run away from God.

In the Bible, it says God wanted Jonah to go to Nineveh to preach God’s word, but Jonah did not want to go so he went on a boat that went as far away as possible from Nineveh.  So Jonah went to Tarshish, but God sent the storm because He was mad at Jonah for not going to Nineveh so then the people in the boat threw Jonah off the edge.  Then God sent a giant fish to swallow up Jonah, and it did! Jonah prayed every day while he was in the big fish’s belly.  God made the big fish throw Jonah onto the shore of Nineveh.

Jonah knew he could not run from God anymore, and then he went to preach in Nineveh.

Do you see now why you can’t run away from God?

Because God will always bring you back to where you need to go.

  1. Jonah got mad when God saved Ninevah instead of judging and destroying them; some are wanting God to destroy America but I am joyful in the fact that there are many fasting, praying and repenting so our righteous God can bring America into her higher purpose and destiny with Christ in God! Thank you Abba Father! God bless you! ~Yvonne
