“Jesus replied, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me. However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.'” -John 6:35-37
We eat bread to sustain us as well as to quench physical hunger.
And so it is with Jesus…
Some of us remember what it was like before Christ, and some of us don’t even want to think about. We remember the things we tried to satisfy the longing of our soul, something that would fill us, nothing quenched the longing we had.
Then when we got a taste of the Bread of Life, we began to understand the joy and peace He gives, filling us with hope, and through Him, we have life because He is Life (John 14:6).
Now we see here, He is the Bread of Heaven.
As we remember the death and burial and resurrection, let us also remember He is our all in all. In order for our spiritual hunger to be quenched and to sustain our spiritual life, we must be in right relationship with Christ. So let us cling to Christ, following His teachings and His ways, and do what He commands us to do (1 Timothy 1:19).
Much love to you all,
