“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation…” -Exodus 19:5-6
Obedience is the key to Holiness. Jesus was humble; He obeyed all that His Father had commanded of Him, and thus, you should obey God also. When you may have trouble doing so, remember Jesus and the crucifixion.
See the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:1-16…
- Then God gave the people all these instructions: “I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name. Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy. Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you. You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” -Matthew 6:14-15
Jesus was tortured, mocked, and hung on a cross. You’d think He would hate them because of what they did, but no, instead He said, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” He didn’t hate them or spite them. And so, you must forgive as Jesus did, for the Bible says to strive to be perfect like your Lord Jesus Christ.

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” -Galatians 2:20
The moment you accept Jesus into your life, you are changed. Your past is gone, you have been forgiven.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” -2 Corinthians 5:17
Jesus died on the cross so everyone could be forgiven of their sins. He paid the ultimate price for us!

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” -James 1:2-3
Are you going through some things and you ask “God, why are you doing this to me?” or “Why would a loving God do these things?”
God does things for a reason. Maybe He’s testing you to make your faith stronger, or He’s using you to do greater things. Whatever it may be, know that God understands your suffering and He will make it better when the right time comes.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11
The Lord has already planned out your life;
He will not waste it.
Everyone’s life has a purpose, however, not everyone chooses to follow the path God has given them.

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” -Luke 15:3-7
One day Jesus was speaking to a group of many people, and He told them the Parable of the Lost Sheep. This passage states that there will be much rejoicing in Heaven when a single sinner repents, so when you committed (or will commit) there will be a great celebration in Heaven. You should spread the Word of God to every non-believer you know, even those that you don’t know. So that one day they will also receive eternal life in Heaven.

“And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.” -Matthew 14: 19-21
Many people followed Jesus to hear his teachings. It was getting late and many were hungry. The disciples suggested that the crowd should leave to go home and eat. Jesus replied: “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” However, they only had five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus took the fish, gave thanks and broke the loaves. He gave them to the disciples to feed the crowd. A crowd of over five thousand people ate that day, with twelve basketfuls left over.
Jesus could make a meal fit for a small group feed thousands of people.

“So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins. Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!’ And the man jumped up and went home! Fear swept through the crowd as they saw this happen. And they praised God for giving humans such authority.” Matthew 9:6-8
During His life, Jesus performed many miracles.
As this Bible verse states, “Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!’“
He had the power to simply speak to the paralyzed, and they would be healed.
Isn’t that amazing?
