What God Calls Evil Is Evil

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.   For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want.  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.  The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” -Galatians 5:16-24

The Word of God has ONE meaning with MANY applications. Don’t twist the Word of God to make it fit your interpretation and fit your personal lifestyle. The Word of God can be used to apply in many ways, but it cannot be made to mean what you think it means.

Let’s take for instance Jesus sitting, drinking, and eating with the sinners. Yes, he did. However, He spoke to them against their behavior and sin. He did not participate in it. Nowhere in scripture will you find Jesus getting drunk or sinning. No, it’s not a sin to have a glass of wine.  It’s getting drunk that’s the issue and the problem. It’s engaging in things that will get you into trouble while you’re drunk.

Let’s talk about some of those stories. Zacchaeus the tax collector was the worst of sinners. Yes, Jesus told Zacchaeus to come down from the tree Jesus would eat with him at his home. Immediately, Zacchaeus repented and gave half his money to the poor and gave back the money to all those he cheated. In fact, all those he cheated received back their money plus four times the amount to make up for his sin. To the prostitute, Jesus told her to go and sin no more. He didn’t use her. He saved her from the stoning. To the woman at the well, Jesus told her to stop living with her unmarried husband and showed her what real love was by sitting with her, not by using her. Jesus had compassion for her, not disgust. To the religious leaders he told them to stop their pretend living, and to those who were disrespectful to in the LORD’s house, Jesus overturned their tables. He had no pity for them. Their hearts were cold as stones; they did evil before God by their double lives as they believed one way but acted another way. They were pretenders and had no intentions of living right before God and then would persecute those who were doing what they were doing in secret.

He constantly spoke against injustice, prejudices, and hate. He showed us how to stand for truth, love, and respect others. He in no way showed us or taught us to accept sin, condone it, or hide it. We have never been given the right to judge anyone. We have been given the right to know right from wrong and act appropriately. We love people, but we don’t engage in their sins. Simple as that. Love, and don’t engage.

Let me bring it home clearly. I’m not going to hate those that go out drink, get drunk, and then engage in doing stupid and harmful things to themselves and others. At the same time, you will not find me anywhere near their presence. This does not mean I’m not going to help anyone who wants to change their behavior and turn their lives around. I’m in to help in any way I can. They will never hear me say I approve, condone, or will ever participate with them in that behavior nor will I allow myself to be manipulated by them. They will hear me say I will help them, but they must give up their drinking and get their lives straightened up. This means getting a whole new set of friends who are not engaging in sinful behaviors. They need to stop the negative behavior and change their mindsets.

Please understand clearly the difference between loving people and agreeing with behaviors God says are sinful. Jesus preached about love, but He never allowed those who came in contact with Him to continue in their sin. He told each one, “Go and sin no more!” I cannot and will not agree with sin, or those who willingly want to continue in their destructive ways. Imagine a judge allowing someone who drinks and drives to continue willfully driving while drinking. It’s nonsense! No judge, even a corrupt one, would ever allow it.

Please understand the meaning of scripture before posting and sharing things that promote lies, hate, and prejudices. We are all held responsible before God on what we say and what we do.

Stand strong in truth, love, and justice. We have the highest judge looking at us from Heaven. We love people, hate the sin, and pray for those who are caught up in false understanding, knowledge, and false teachings coming from pulpits and religious leaders as in Jesus’ days who manipulated and distorted truths for their personal gains.

Jesus was not understanding and kind to them. He overturned their tables and called them snakes. This is what He had to say to those evil religious leaders, “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.”

Can you say, “Ouch?” Be very careful what you say and do. My personal rule. I love, respect, and do good to all who come in contact with me. However, I will not condone, hide, or accept sins in any way or form. This is my lifestyle. I choose better for myself and model right living for my children and those who watch me.

Be strong leaders by words and actions. Don’t be manipulated to do wrong and evil. So many people are hurting. Some at the hands of evil people, others by choice. Whoever comes in contact with you, lead by the word of God and by the power of His Spirit living in you. We are to bring hope and a desire with them to seek after the God who loves them and desires to fill them with real joy, love, and peace!

Doesn’t Matter How Good It Looks

BIBLE 2.jpg

If it is contrary to the will of God, it doesn’t matter how good it looks or how good it feels. Get this truth, God doesn’t contradict himself no matter how much you try to make something sinful fit into your own understanding.

Sin is sin!

We want to love and accept what is immoral and we want to slam dunk those that stand for truth, honor, and godliness.

Those who know God deeply hate sin but love the sinner.

God is the Giver of every perfect and good gift. Get that? Perfect and good!

My Times Are In Your Hand

TIME 1

“My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!”

Psalms 31:15

I have been thinking this week about time. I finally concluded, and this saying in Psalms drives it home.

First, “My times are in your hand.” God holds every second of the day in His perfect hand. No second is wasted when we walk with Him.

Secondly, I view the word enemies to mean more than just people. Enemies are things, ideas, thoughts, anything which steals our time. I understand that in this verse it’s talking about people. But God is using this verse to show me things that keep us from doing what He has called us to accomplish can be stolen by “other” enemies.

I barely watch TV because I feel I can spend my time better. I like to write. I like to read.  I love talking to my friends. Those that talk to me know I’m always working out as I’m speaking to them. My huffing and puffing, in between my comments, have become my trademark. Some of you know it’s 9 a.m., and I need company while I exercise.

This today is not really about what I like to do rather it’s to get us to reflect on our time.

God gives us 24 hours a day.

How are you spending that time?

Are you growing closer towards God, reflecting on the one who really holds your next second?

Are you walking in his path, leading you to fulfill his great plans in your life?

And finally, if you have children are you investing in their lives leading them to be all God has called them to be?

The abilities and the talents are bestowed on every single person what are you doing with it for you, and teaching it to your children?

If you have a significant other in your life do they know you are invested in them?

Is there time to encourage each other, and to help each other? Most importantly is there time to be with each other?

Time, time, time! I hear all the excuses in the world about, “If only” I had more time. You know what? Had God given us more time we would only waste more of it. Using your time wisely is important.

Priorities are what time all about. Choices, decisions, thoughts, and ideas, that are wrong. Hence, wrong choices of spent time.

Think with me about the “enemies” of your time. Work is important but not more important than those you love. I can build the most powerful empire, and if I lose my children in the process, my time was my enemy; it was wasted time. The legacy I leave behind is to my children, and it’s for them to pass to the next generation. I have concluded by watching many other and myself, we don’t understand the importance of our times. However, God does, and “Our times are in His hands!” If you ask him how to make the most of it, He reveals it and even leads our paths.

May I suggest to you this day that you invest your time wisely? Time spent directed and lead of God is truly the best time of your life. Make it count, My Friends. Let it be your friend and not your enemy.”

I want every single second of my day to be counted for and to accomplish all He has in that second. It’s starts with my time with Him first, family second, work third, and recreation last. This is how to make our times be counted and blessed by a God who first gave it to us.

Make today the day you fully make the times of your life be blessed times.

testify

I want to share this miraculous testimony.

“Make me understand your ways, O LORD!

Teach me your paths!”

Psalms 25.4

In the last few years, God has been teaching me how to really listen, understand, and walk in His paths, not mine. Hard to do at times as I don’t always want to do what He asks me to do.

Ruth and I have been working on a very important project at Thread of Hope. I said to God, “I really don’t know how to make this happen, God?” The next day, I felt God tell me to go meet with the VP of a bank. I told God, “I don’t know this bank, they will think I am crazy God.” I called Ruth, and I told her what God just told me. I asked for her to please pray!

I went to the bank and spoke to the VP. I told him, “I must sound crazy to you, but I feel God wanted me to talk to you about this project, do you think I’m crazy?” He laughed, and told me, “No, I don’t think you’re crazy, but this has never been done before. I don’t know how to make this happen.” I asked him if he would try? He told me, “Yes, I will try for you, because I feel in my heart to help you.” I thanked him and left his office.

Three weeks went by just wasn’t coming together as fast as I needed it to be. I woke up, at the hotel here in Florida, called Ruth and told her, “Ruth, while I was praying just now, God gave me a vision, and I saw our project, and what we asked of the bank come to pass.” I mean, Ruth, I saw the whole thing before my eyes. God is going to do this, I know He is.” Well, by the end of that day, we learned maybe it might not happen as the deadline for the project was that very day. We waited with bated breath, and at the end of the day, it had NOT happened. I began to question God about what He told me to do and what He showed me that very morning. I called Ruth, and I told her, “Forget it, I must have missed understood what God showed me. Let’s forget about this, and let’s go to our second plan.”

As she began to implement our second plan, I was so disappointed. I went to my hotel room and went to bed. Then, God spoke to me so loud, “Did I not give you a command to go to that bank? Didn’t I lead you there? Did I not show you this morning I am going to give you this project by this bank? You are out of line. Stop what you are doing now. I am not in your second plan. You are panicking and trying to do this your way. Call Ruth, and ask her to stop what you asked her to do now.”

Well, you know it, God told me I was out of line, and He wasn’t in it. I jumped out of bed, night shirt and all, left my hotel room, and I knocked on her door, as she was on the phone implementing my second plan. I asked her to hang up now, “God said no to this second plan, Ruth, hang up the phone please.” Talk about neurotic behavior. Poor Ruth. I explained what God just showed me, and I told her we had to wait.

Well, the next day, at the end of the day, 15 minutes before the bank closed, on Friday, we received the phone call from the bank telling us we got what I had asked and for more than I requested. The VP called me and told me he couldn’t believe we got what I asked for and thanked me for helping him connect to the very top President. He told me he learned a lot from this request of mine, and he could never be the same again. Imagine that! Instead of me thanking him, he is thanking me because he witnessed a miracle.

God leads our steps, My Friends. However, there is something we must do. We need to understand His ways. He’s not asking us to understand the ways of our families or friends. He’s asking us to understand HIS ways. His ways are higher than our ways. We must ask Him to show us His ways. We have to go where He leads us to go, and we must do what He asks us to do regardless of what others might think. We must believe what He asked of us. We must believe that when we truly choose to follow Him no matter what He will begin to show us things that don’t make sense in the natural but make a lot of sense in the supernatural. When what He said doesn’t happen according to our timeline, we must wait for His perfect timing. We must remain steadfast on what He has told us. We cannot panic and do things our way. We must listen for His small still voice, and no matter what He tells us we must follow it.I almost made a huge mistake by taking matters into my own hands and missed out on one of the greatest opportunities to watch a miracle take place and build an incredible relationship with these people at this bank. I am no longer a customer to them, they know me by name now and I know God gave me

I almost made a huge mistake by taking matters into my own hands and almost missed out on one of the greatest opportunities to watch a miracle take place and build an incredible relationship with these people at this bank. I am no longer a customer to them. They know me by name now, and I know God gave me favor, and there is a bigger plan at stake here I haven’t even thought or dreamed about. This testimony is a testimony of the goodness of my God. He wants us to understand His ways, and He wants to lead our paths. I don’t know about you, but for me, I want to understand only His ways, and I want Him to lead my paths to where He wants me to go and what He wants me to do. What an amazing day for real. God is so good and so gracious, and so awesome!

God has a timetable and it is always different than ours. This moment was a defining moment for me as I was led to a bank, with a project idea, and I almost missed it because of my timetable. Imagine if God didn’t stop me? I would have missed out big time. Wait on God and make every moment a defining one.
